Mason jar crafts are among the most popular DIY projects. There are so many useful ways of repurposing the empty mason jars. But have you ever thought of using the mason jars to create picture frames? Departing from the standard picture frame ideas, you can create a unique picture frame with the glass jars. Wondering how?
Here Is The Mason Jar Picture Frame Tutorial For You
How To Make Mason Jar Picture Frames
You can display photos in a mason jar in two ways – by positioning the picture in the jar or pasting the picture on the jar.
Method I: Vintage Picture In Mason Jar
Things You Will Need
Materials you will need for this project are a clean mason jar, vegetable oil, dried flower petals and herbs and a vintage photo.
Pour enough vegetable oil to ensure that the photo stays drenched in the oil after it is inserted in the Mason jar. Don’t worry, the oil will not spoil the photo but it will further enhance the vintage effect.
Add Herbs And Flowers
Put the dried flower petals or herbs in the jar. Use your creativity in selecting and arranging the herbs and petals. There are countless options. Either place a few sprigs of rosemary or mint in the bottle or add large amounts of dried flowers and leaves in the bottle.
Insert The Photo
Curve the vintage photo and place it into the jar. Either wrap the photo around the front wall of the jar with the herbs and flowers behind it or place it against the back wall of the jar with the dried herbs and flowers before it. You can even insert it at the center with the herbs and flowers around it.
Screw the lid of the jar and now you have a wonderful vintage photo holder.
Method II: Vintage Picture On Mason Jar
Things You Will Need
In addition to a clean mason jar and a black and white photo, you will need glass paint, paint brush, painters tape and sticker.
Paint The Mason Jar
Paste a sticker on the Mason jar where you want to attach your vintage photo. Paint the jar and while the paint is wet remove the sticker.
Paste The Photo
With the help of painter’s tape attach the photo to the unpainted area of the jar. If you don’t have a painter’s tape, with the help of adhesive you can glue the photo directly on the bottle.
To make sure that the paint stays on the glass jar, seal the paint by spraying clear spray paint on the jar.
To beautify the Mason jar picture frame further, place some beautiful flowers in the jar and you will get a Mason jar vase cum picture frame.
